Great product, but...
The best feature about this device is the single-click presets, which allow you to customize the quality, file size, and save location, as well as color, grayscale, or black and white.

Make sure you really have use for a document scanner. It takes 7 seconds still to scan this, compared with the 10-14 seconds of traditional scanners. Keep in mind that if it is just for your own use, you can use an app on your phone like genius scan to capture scans for even less time than this. The file size will be larger, but you can use another software to shrink the file after that. 2mb vs 700kb, basically. The benefit to this is that the lighting will always be the same, and it will be fewer steps. But phone pictures' quality will be about the same.

Get this if:
-you travel a lot
-need the space
-have a lot of items to scan
-you like the satisfying sound of scanners

You can choose for it to scan between 100dpi and 300dpi at increments of 50, and you can choose from 5 notches of file size (quality).

It goes to sleep and you have to wake it up if you walk about for around 20 minutes. Haven't looked into if I can change that yet.

Reduce the paper & make record-keeping a breeze!
I love this scanner! Set up on my laptop was a breeze. When I have a stack of receipts or papers I want to process (or even 1 or 2) I simply plug the scanner into my laptop and start scanning. You get a file folder that you’ve set up with a list of scanned images. You open an image and save it where you want to under whatever name you wish. I have 12 file folders for the months in 2024, and as I scan a receipt, I name it with the date and the company and the dollar amount and save it in the appropriate month’s folder. Example - 2024-11-19 Safeway $43.19. Then I pitch the paper copy. Come tax time, I can locate any receipt I need quickly. I also use the scanner to save copies of warranties, manuals, etc., - especially the directions from packaging for products I’ve purchased or received as gifts. It’s so much easier finding them on my laptop in a file called “Manuals” than hunting through drawers of miscellaneous paper. The scanner is simple to use and understand. A few times the paper/receipt has jammed. All it takes is opening the top of the scanner and closing it, repositioning the paper and pressing the button to scan it again. VERY user-friendly. And it’s compact and light enough to take on trips and scan receipts, souvenirs, tickets, etc. as we travel and not have to lug all the paper piles home with us.

7200 items scanned in 18 months
Not a big fan of Brother products due to issues at work with their devices over the years, so this was a try it and see what happens... It's been used hard on a 'picture project' where I've been archiving mainly pictures from the last 100 years (no joke). I've pushed greeting cards, id cards, metal plates, literally held the thing shut and pushed things through this thing just to scan them into eternity. It's job is officially done, but I have a feeling it'll be used in the future. 10/10, would definitely recommend.
